This homely, refurbished, self-catering cottage is situated on the island of Burra connected to the Shetland mainland by bridges. It overlooks the scenic fishing village of Hamnavoe, the harbour, and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Nearby there is beautiful scenery, sandy beaches, and many interesting walks. The area is an ideal base for bird watching.
Highmount's History:
Highmount is one of the earliest fishing cottages to be built in Hamnavoe. It was built pre 1860 and has been extended a number of times. It has recently been fully refurbished by the current owners for use as self catering holiday accommodation.
The Cottage:
Highmount can sleep six people, and has a sitting room, kitchen/diner, three bedrooms and a bathroom. The cottage is registered with "Visit Scotland" and has a 3 star rating.

Kitchen/Diner with electric cooker, washing/drying machine, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, and a solid fuel rayburn.
Sitting Room with a wood burning stove, TV, DVD player, music centre, sofas and coffee table/chest.
Bathroom with sink, toilet and bath with overhead electric shower.
Master bedroom with king size bed and open fire.
Small bedroom with single bed and pull out underbed.
Box room with bunk beds.
Outside there is a small garden with a patio and seating. There is also a drying area.
Heating
The cottage has electric heating throughout. Electricity is extra using payment tokens available from the local shop/post office.
